Ministry Description

Interns at Fellowship Bible Church will have the exciting opportunity to partner with the Pastors, Elders, staff, and ministry leads of the church in our mission to reach the lost and make disciples. This role offers a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on working in the local church.

Essential Youth Intern Functions

An intern hired for this position would be expected to humbly and effectively work to support the robust
summer schedule of Third Place Teens, the youth ministry of Fellowship Bible Church, by discipling and
teaching teens, engaging in summer youth group meetings and events, and assisting the Youth Pastor in his day-to-day responsibilities.


Internship Timeframe
Start Date: May 2026
End Date: August 2026
Flexible start and end date. Twelve week commitment preferred.

 

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Collaboration & Planning: The summer youth ministry intern will actively participate in the
    planning and execution of youth programs, working alongside the youth pastor and volunteer team. This includes assisting in the development of events, activities, and lessons that align with the ministry’s goals. The intern is expected to meet regularly with the youth pastor to collaborate on details and logistics for each calendar item, ensuring smooth and effective implementation throughout the summer.
  • Youth Group/Events & Trips: Involvement and leadership in Thursday night youth group gatherings, special events, retreats, and trips is required.
  • Relationship & Discipleship: An intern in this role will seek to cultivate healthy relationships with teens and leaders in the ministry along with prioritizing discipleship of the next generation to be more like Christ.
  • Teaching & Equipping: An intern in this role should expect to be assigned occasional teaching responsibilities for Thursday night youth gatherings and midweek Bible studies.
  • Admin Support: Aiding the youth pastor with regular communications, social media, attendance, database upkeep, scheduling and more are a part of an intern’s regular responsibilities.

Education, Experience, and Biblical Qualifications

This position requires:

  • Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.

  • Strong leadership skills combined with a solid work ethic.

  • A passion for ministry and to see others grow in their faith.

  • The ability to connect with the next generation and push them towards Christlikeness.

  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).

  • Competency with computer software (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.), and the capacity to learn new software (Photoshop, Canva, iMovie, others).

  • Submission to the FBC Statement of Faith.

  • A high school diploma. Pursuing a Biblical or Pastoral degree is preferred.

An Overview of What the Elders Are Asking of You

    1. Demonstrate submissiveness to the Eldership of Fellowship Bible Church in all areas, always striving to uphold the Elder Council and seeking the success of our church vision. This requires all ministries to serve one another to see the growth of the body as a whole.

    2. Pro-actively pray for the body of Fellowship Bible Church, its ministries and members.

    3. You will be expected to work at least 20 hours a week between office hours, services, ministry and related activities. There are weeks where that number could go up.

    4. Your presence during office hours (unless church responsibilities require you to be offsite and unless it is
      your day off). This includes staff meetings (Tuesdays, 11:00am-12:00pm).

    5. Endorsement and participation in church endeavors such as services, classes and a Connection Group.

    6. Serve where needed during Sunday morning services.

 

An Overview of What You Can Expect From the Elders

    1. An active, on-going interest in your personal, spiritual and familial development.

    2.  Uninterrupted bi-weekly salary.

    3. A $4000 stipend
